The French meteorological agency has stated that “persistent” rainfall in the coastal departments of Manche, Atlantic Loire, Vendée, Morbihan, Finistère, the northern and English Channel regions, as well as the inland departments of Orne, Mayenne, and Sarthe, will lead to flooding. Authorities have issued warnings, stating that this will result in rising water levels.
In these areas at risk of flooding, authorities have issued an “orange alert,” the second-highest danger level, to increase vigilance. Residents in these regions are advised to stay away from rivers, lakes, and streams.
