Dining Etiquette and Taboos
Due to geographical influences, Polish dining customs are similar to those of other Eastern European countries. Daily meals mainly consist of Western cuisine, but they also enjoy Chinese cuisine, and their portions are generally large.
They have a unique habit of serving dishes, especially when it comes to whole chicken, duck, or goose. They prefer to have the youngest female hostess at the table handle the carving and serve the dishes to the guests one by one, before everyone starts eating together.
Polish people generally do not like to eat shrimp, crab, and seafood. They also have a dislike for pickles and steamed dishes.
