Don’t miss Cantacuzino Palace and Revolution Square. The spectacular CEC Palace is one of the 50 buildings designed by architect Paul Gottereanu in Bucharest.
Count Dracula
Transylvania is renowned for its spectacular castles, with Bran Castle being the most famous. This Gothic structure was built near Brasov in 1377 and is associated with Vlad the Impaler, also known as “Vlad the Impaler,” who inspired Bram Stoker’s novel “Dracula.” Vlad III, or Vlad the Impaler, was a 15th-century ruler and the inspiration behind Stoker’s fictional character. When visiting Transylvania, exploring well-preserved medieval towns such as Sibiu and Sighisoara, the birthplace of the real Dracula (Casa Dracula), is a must.
River of Nations – The Danube
The Danube River stretches for 1,788 miles (2,877 kilometers), originating in the Black Forest of Germany and passing through nine countries, finally flowing into the Black Sea in Romania. Before reaching the Black Sea, the Danube forms Europe’s second-largest delta: the Danube Delta. This wild flora and fauna conservation area is home to a variety of ecosystems, including rivers, lakes, marshes, and reed beds, supporting 3,450 species of birds and other animal species. Exploring the Danube River and its delta by boat is highly recommended for a unique and enriching experience.
The Painted Monasteries
In the 14th to 15th centuries, Stephen the Great, after each victorious battle, ordered the construction of a church or monastery in Moldavia, located near the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains. The painted monasteries of Bucovina are considered masterpieces of Byzantine art. Among these monasteries, seven have been recognized as UNESCO World Heritage sites, adorned with colorful and intricate frescoes both inside and outside, embellishing these charming buildings.
A Relaxing Waystation
From pristine white beaches to incredibly soothing spa treatments and mud baths, along with vibrant nightlife, the Black Sea resorts offer you a diverse range of experiences. The Black Sea is renowned for its healing powers, and it boasts top-notch resorts where weary travelers can enjoy comfortable and relaxing retreats. This bountiful region allows you to appreciate ancient historical landmarks and vast vineyards. The transportation in this area is very convenient, making it easy for visitors to explore the Danube Delta, Bucharest, or the painted monasteries.
